Everyone has heard of student council but what about Junior Council for District 13? Well, Hastings High School STUCO members know about it and we even have a few students in the program now.

Junior Council for District 13 is very beneficial for students that are passionate about bringing school spirit to their schools. Junior Council is just a bigger form of student council but with students from different schools brought all together to make one council. They take pride in what they are doing because they know that it is all going to be worth it at the end.

Now not just anyone can get into Junior Council for District 13, in fact, you have to submit an application to even be considered. Some students even went beyond and application and added a little extra to it. “I submitted my application and added a short story,” said Aisha Adisa.

Students that want to be apart of Junior Council for District 13 have to really have to have a strong hold of leadership in them because they will be having to take charge and lead people in this program. I’m going to be part of the council during the wintertime and they will have a Winter Workshop which they will have a group that they lead. While doing the winter workshop the Junior Council will meet many members of the student council and from there they will all share ideas that will better their schools. The Junior Council and their group of student council members will be learning different ways to bring spirit to school and how to help school not be boring to students.

In better words, Junior Council for District 13 is a great program for student council members to really bring great ideas to the table on how to better their schools and making high school experiences fun. “So far my experience with student council and junior 13 has been nice. I really enjoy learning different ways to bring school spirit to Hastings High School” said Aisha Adisa
