The city of Houston has been awarded a $29 million grant to redesign Bissonnet Street, a seven-mile stretch that has been identified as one of the most dangerous roads in the city. The grant, awarded by the US Department of Transportation, will be used to improve safety conditions on Bissonnet between South Dairy Ashford and Hillcroft Avenue. This project is part of the city’s Vision Zero Action Plan, which aims to end traffic deaths, and serious injuries by 2030. The redesign will include new sidewalks, protected bike lanes, dedicated turn lanes, roundabouts, and improved crosswalks.
As of this the Bayland Community Center is located at 6400 Bissonnet Street, Houston, Texas 77074. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bayland community center. This meeting is part of the Bissonnet Corridor Safe Streets Project, which aims to improve safety conditions on Bissonnet street.
